So I was reading one of Yan Babitski’s post’s about reading technical reading lately and the video he linked in it talked about how our brains become accustomed to automating things after we’ve struggled with it long and frequently.

I’m willing to bet, knowing this that if you had focused on writing French rather than speaking it, you’d probably write and read a little better than speaking and listening. It all depends on which area you work on.

Languages are definitely a skill in that regard, the ability isn’t permanent or fixed. Use it or lose it, as they say.
