Do you have to write everyday?

I’m trying to challenge myself and publish something everyday. I’m not particularly good at it. I don’t really have that much training other than traditional schooling. I don’t know that I have anything particularly special to say, or anything new for that matter.

I’ve always thought to myself that if I had the freedom to choose something as a career, and it didn’t really matter, I’d love to get paid for talking. I’m not an extrovert, but when there’s a good subject I really enjoy sitting and talking for a long time. If there’s no good subject around I can sit in silence for quite a while but if you make the mistake of piquing my interest I can talk for days. I’m starting to wonder if writing is somewhat like that. There’s this huge freedom to start typing and it can be about anything I want it to be about, but there’s also this overwhelming pressure to make sure that what I’m writing has a target audience, that eventually someone will read it. I really think that it’s something best forgotten though.

The most time I spend writing is usually on discussion boards or facebook, things like that. I usually end up typing long form paragraph that I’m sure whoever is reading has to take a deep breath beforehand.

I don’t think I can manage to write things on a specific topic for a long time, I don’t have any special expertise on any one particular subject, I know a little bit about a lot of things and somethings I know quite…
