How to use thinking to develop your physical output.

In the past five years, I’ve started many different things. I’ve learned to speak a language, garden, cook, stretch and so much more. Now, I’m trying to learn how to write. What is common among all of these things is that there are steps to each of them.

Be mindful of your position and your motion

Whenever you are getting into a stretch you need to be mindful about the position of muscle you are trying to stretch, you need to look at the position of your hips, your spine, which direction your toes are pointing. If you are going to stretch your hamstring, it doesn’t only involve your hamstring. You can stretch without considering all of these things, but you are risking injury. Tom Merrick has a great video discussing not only how to stretch the hamstring, but its role in the body and what muscles it is connected to most nearly.

If you want to stretch a particular muscle, use your entire body.
