My phone is a potato…

If you’re ever in Brazil, and you’re in a tight spot, you should find out where the local “feira” is, the farmer’s market. Almost everyone knows where it is and you’ll get a first hand look at local culture. The best part is… It’s really cheap!

The image in the header is my loot with just two 10 real notes and some change in my pocket. You can really fill your larder for very cheap, with fresh tasty vegetables and fruits.

Here’s the run down of what I got (values in reals):

  • limes -$2
  • carrots and spring onions-$2
  • broccoli and okra -$2 together
  • green beans and ginger -$2 together
  • honey dew melon -$1
  • beats -$1
  • garlic -$4
  • mangoes -$2
  • tomatoes -$1.50
  • cut-up squash-$0.85
  • banana -$2
R$2 worth of bananas
